2. **Portable and Lightweight** Weighing around 1.5 lbs (680g), it is compact and easy to carry, making it suitable for fieldwork without excessive strain.
3. **Multiple Modes and Functions** Includes **thermal imaging, voltage detection, continuity testing, and diode testing**, making it a versatile tool for electricians, HVAC technicians, and general maintenance professionals.
4. **Long Battery Life** The built-in rechargeable battery (or optional external power) provides extended usage, reducing downtime during inspections.
5. **User-Friendly Interface** Features a **color LCD screen** with intuitive controls, making it accessible for both beginners and experienced technicians.
6. **Compatibility with Smart Devices** Supports **Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity**, allowing users to transfer images and data to smartphones or tablets for documentation and analysis.
7. **Durable Construction** Built with a **shock-resistant design**, it can withstand minor drops and harsh working conditions.
8. **Affordable Compared to Professional-Grade Models** Priced lower than high-end thermal cameras (e.g., FLIR or Testo), it offers a cost-effective entry into thermal diagnostics.
9. **Quick Response Time** The thermal sensor updates images rapidly, improving efficiency during inspections.
10. **Useful for Preventive Maintenance** Helps detect **hotspots, loose connections, and energy inefficiencies** before they lead to costly failures.
---
#### **Cons:**1. **Lower Resolution Than High-End Models** While 160 120 is sufficient for basic diagnostics, professionals requiring **higher precision (e.g., 320 240 or 640 480)** may find it limiting for complex inspections.
2. **Limited Thermal Sensitivity (NET)** The **thermal sensitivity (NET)** is around **0.05 C**, which may not be as precise as professional-grade cameras (e.g., **0.02 C or better**).
3. **No Built-in Laser Pointer** Unlike some advanced models, it lacks a **laser pointer** for precise pointing, which can be useful in tight spaces.
4. **Software Dependence for Advanced Features** Some **advanced analysis tools** (e.g., thermal mapping, reporting templates) may require **third-party software**, adding an extra cost.
5. **Battery Performance Over Time** While the battery is decent, **long-term use may require frequent recharging**, especially in cold environments where battery life can degrade.
6. **Learning Curve for Advanced Functions** While basic thermal imaging is straightforward, **voltage testing and diode testing** may require some training for optimal use.
7. **No Built-in Storage** Relies on **external devices (phone/tablet) for saving images**, which can be inconvenient in the field without connectivity.
8. **Durability Concerns in Extreme Conditions** While rugged, **prolonged exposure to moisture, dust, or extreme temperatures** could potentially damage the internal components.
9. **Limited Brand Recognition** Launch is a **budget-friendly brand**, meaning **customer support and warranty service** may not be as robust as established brands like FLIR or InfiRay.
10. **Not Ideal for Professional Certifications** If used for **licensing exams or high-stakes inspections**, some examiners may prefer **higher-end, calibrated thermal cameras** for accuracy.
---
### **Conclusion**
The **Launch TIT-202** is a **solid, budget-friendly thermal imaging tool** that excels in **basic to intermediate diagnostics** for electricians, HVAC technicians, and general maintenance workers. Its **portability, multi-functionality, and affordability** make it a practical choice for those who need a **versatile, all-in-one diagnostic tool** without breaking the bank.
However, **professionals requiring high-resolution imaging, extreme precision, or advanced thermal analysis** may find it **insufficient** and should consider **higher-end alternatives** (e.g., FLIR E4, Testo 880, or InfiRay R640). Additionally, users in **industrial or commercial settings** where **certification and long-term reliability** are critical should weigh whether the **cost savings justify the trade-offs in performance**.

I didn do any other testing don't know what functions it has or how they work. Launch TIT-202 thermal imagery. It powers on and takes a charge I unplugged it still worked so holds. I don't know anything about this it came with a tool but out of mostly automotive tools.
The protective film is still on the screen I plugged it in and powered shows all diff temperatures. Maybe you can look up the serial number for date. If the battery. I assume its at least several years old so gave n OK idea the condition.
This looks to be almost new with very little use.
